Terms and Conditions for the 2025 Beaten Zone Ventures TAK-HACK Hackathon (22nd , 23rd, 24th August 2025)
Eligibility: The TAK-HACK Hackathon ("Event") is open to individuals or teams who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia. Participants must be at least 18 years old and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
Self-Funding Travel and Accommodation: Participants are responsible for self-funding their own travel to and from ‘The Precinct’ (Level 2/315 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 Australia) as well as arranging their own accommodation. The organisers of the Event will not provide any financial assistance or reimbursements for these expenses.
Networking Mixer: All participants of the Event will be invited to a Networking Mixer held after the conclusion of the Event on the 24th of August. The Networking Mixer will provide a complimentary drinks and food package.
Meals during the Event: Approved participants will be provided with 2 meals per day, i.e. lunch and dinner. These meals will be selected by the Event coordination staff, any allergies or dietary requirements are to be brought to the attention of the Event coordination staff - Beaten Zone Venture Partners is not to be held liable for any allergic or adverse reactions to food provided throughout the Event, but will take reasonable steps to try and ensure that all dietary restrictions and allergies are catered for and any special dietary needs food options are clearly labelled.
Compliance with Local Laws and Regulations: All participants are required to comply with Local, State and Federal laws and regulations during their participation during the Event. The organisers will not be held responsible for any violations or legal issues arising from participants' actions or behaviour during the Event.
Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to adhere to a professional and respectful code of conduct throughout the Event. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, or disruptive conduct, may result in disqualification and removal from the Event at the discretion of the organisers or venue staff.
Intellectual Property: Participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property rights in relation to their pitches or ideas presented during the Event. However, by participating in the Event, participants grant the organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and distribute sanitised videography and photography of their pitch presentations, any technology developed during the course of the Event as well as produce sanitised promotional material for advertising, marketing and informational purposes.
Limitation of Liability: The organisers of the Event will not be held liable for any loss, injury, or damages incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel-related incidents, accidents, or personal injury.
Modification or Cancellation: The organisers reserve the right to modify, cancel, or suspend the Event at any time and for any reason. In the event of cancellation, participants will be entitled to reimbursement for any Event tickets purchased, in accordance with the Eventbrite refund policy.
Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Event is being held.
By participating in the Pitch Fest, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
