TAK-HACK - Hacking the Human Machine Interface for the Military and First Responders!
TAK-HACK is a three-day tactical innovation sprint that brings together Defence personnel, veterans, first responders, students, engineers, software developers, technologists and start-up teams to solve real-world operational challenges using the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) ecosystem.
Participants work alongside operators, mentors and industry experts to develop practical solutions designed to improve coordination, situational awareness and decision-making in complex environments.
What is TAK?
The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) is a suite of geospatial and situational awareness tools used across Defence, public safety and emergency response environments. Originally developed for military applications, TAK enables users to share information in real time, improve coordination and maintain a common operating picture across teams.
The TAK ecosystem includes a range of applications and services, including but not limited to:
Together, these tools support mapping, navigation, communications, mission planning, location sharing, sensor integration and real-time collaboration.
Why Does It Matter?
TAK is used globally to support military, emergency management and public safety operations where situational awareness and rapid decision-making are critical.
TAK-HACK provides participants with the opportunity to explore the TAK ecosystem, work on meaningful operational challenges and contribute ideas that may have real-world applications beyond the event itself.
