Eligibility: The 2025 Beaten Zone Pitch Fest Event (“Event”) is open to individuals or teams who are Australian citizens or Permanent Residents of Australia. Participants must be at least 18 years old and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
Self-Funding Travel and Accommodation: Participants are responsible for self-funding their own travel to and from Sydney, Australia, as well as arranging their own accommodation. The organisers of the Event will not provide any financial assistance or reimbursements for these expenses.
Compliance with Local Laws and Regulations: All participants are required to comply with Local, State and Federal laws and regulations during their participation in the Event. The organisers will not be held responsible for any violations or legal issues arising from participants’ actions or behaviour during the Event.
Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to adhere to a professional and respectful code of conduct throughout the Event. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, or disruptive conduct, may result in disqualification and removal from the Event at the discretion of the organisers or venue staff.
Intellectual Property: Participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property rights in relation to their pitches or ideas presented during the Event. However, by participating in the Event, participants grant the organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and distribute sanitised videography and photography of their pitch presentations (excluding content of the pitch itself) as well as produce sanitised promotional material for advertising, marketing, and informational purposes.
Winning Pitch Prize: The winning team of the Event will be awarded a Prize, this is yet to be selected.
Limitation of Liability: The organisers of the Event will not be held liable for any loss, injury, or damages incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel-related incidents, accidents, or personal injury.
Beaten Zone Investment Manager Ltd Pty (BZIM) Mandate Applicability: Applicants must satisfy the Event theme, BZIM mandate (‘Early stage, sovereign businesses, developing solutions that enhance the lethality or survivability capability of the ADF and Australia’s Allies’) and investment criteria of BZIM, subject to early stage venture capital limited partnership’s (ESVLCP) rules, to be eligible to participate in the Event.
Modification or Cancellation: The organisers reserve the right to modify, cancel, or suspend the Event at any time and for any reason. In the event of cancellation, participants will not be entitled to any compensation or reimbursement.
Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the New South Wales, Australia, where the Event is being held. By participating in this Event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
