TAKHACK - Hacking the Human Machine Interface for Military and First Responders!
</aside>
This is not just another hackathon. It’s a call to creators, coders, tinkerers, and tactical minds to solve a challenge that matters.
This year’s mission is grounded in a single question:
“How might we use ATAK to better enable allied warfighters to deconflict offensive support assets and gain better situational awareness during the dynamic clearance of a large urban structure?”
In everyday terms, can you build a plugin or application that helps a 30-person team safely and effectively search every room in a shopping centre, stadium, or airport for threats or people needing help?
TAKHACK is your chance to work side-by-side with Defence advisors, frontline operators, technologists, and mission-driven mentors to explore ATAK (or CivTAK) 's capabilities, push your creativity, and deliver something that could have a real operational impact.
This is a weekend to learn fast, build smart, and step into a mission bigger than yourself.
Welcome to the challenge. We’re glad you’re here
The TAK ecosystem allows for extensible plugins and custom functionality, meaning teams can:
💬 “We need veterans and serving members to tell us what they wish existed — so we can help build it.”

“How might we use TAK to better enable allied warfighters to deconflict offensive support assets and gain better situational awareness during the dynamic clearance of a large urban structure?”
Translated to everyday language:
“What application or plugin can you develop to allow a team of 30 people to safely and effectively check every space within a large facility (e.g. Westfield, Hotels, Stadiums, Casinos, Airports) to check for threats or people in need of assistance?”
To be released.
